Jackson County is served by three railroads:
There are over 30 motor freight carrier companies licensed to serve the needs of Jackson County businesses. The following have local terminals:
Many other carriers are based and/or operate terminals in Chattanooga and Huntsville, both within an hour's drive.

Center is located at the Huntsville International Airport to
transfer, receive, store, and distribute air, rail, and highway
cargo with overnight delivery throughout the Southeastern United
States. Nationwide rail service is provided by Norfolk
Southern. Air cargo shipments for both domestic and
international destinations can be transported via Emery Worldwide,
Airborne Express, DHL Worldwide Express, Panalpina, Cargolux, or
Burlington Express. U.S. Customs officials, U.S. Department of
Agriculture inspectors and various custom brokers and freight
forwarders maintain offices onsite. The airport and intermodal
center are designated as a U.S. Customs foreign trade zone (port of
entry).
Water Transportation
The navigable Tennessee River
traverses Jackson County in a southwesterly direction offering a 9
ft. channel depth for economical shipments. Both public and
private use barge terminals are available for loading and
off-loading timber, steel, coal, iron ore and other bulk products.
The Alabama State
Port Authority has licensed inland ports in Bridgeport and
nearby Huntsville.
The Port of
Nickajack is 30 miles away. The Tennessee River is part of an
interconnected waterway system which serves 21 states. Through
the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, barge shipments reach the
deep-water port of Mobile in approximately 4 and a half days.
